Sergeant First Class Jesse Reed

SFC Jesse Reed is originally from Columbus, Nebraska. He attended OSUT at Fort Knox in 2006 where he was awarded the MOS of 19K. Following graduation of OSUT SFC Reed served as an M1 Armor Crewman with Apache Troop, 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment at Fort Hood, TX from 2006-2011. SFC Reed was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2007-2009 as an M1A2 Tank Crewman and ended the deployment as an M1A2 Tank Gunner. SFC Reed deployed with the same Troop, again, to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn from 2010 to 2011, where he served his entire time as a Tank Commander. From there, SFC Reed served with Charlie Company, 1-8 Infantry, 3rd ABCT, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO from 2011-2016 where he served as both Tank Commander and Platoon Sergeant. SFC Reed deployed with Charlie Company in support of Operation Spartan Shield in 2015 as a Tank Platoon Sergeant. SFC Reed then went on to serve as a Drill Sergeant with Bravo Company, 1-81st Armored Brigade, Fort Benning GA. SFC Reed also served as the Senior Drill Sergeant for Alpha Company, 1-81st Armor Regiment, 194th Brigade. SFC Reed most recent assignment was serving as a Platoon Sergeant and Troop First Sergeant of Tomahawk Troop, 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 2ABCT, 1ID, Fort Riley, KS.

Sergeant First Class Reed’s military education includes Basic Leader’s Course, Advanced Leader’s Course, Senior Leader’s Course, Unit Prevention Leader’s Course, Equal Opportunity Leader’s Course, Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention Course, and Drill Sergeant Academy.

Sergeant First Class Reed’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. Additionally, he has been awarded the Combat Action Badge and Drill Sergeant Badge.
